These terms cover bookings made with Khiva Fortress Tours (part of East Explorer Tours) through khivafortresses.com, WhatsApp, or email. By booking a tour with us, you agree to the terms below.
Enquiries and booking
No payment is required to enquire. When you submit the booking form, message us on WhatsApp, or email us, we'll reply — typically within 24 hours — with availability and a firm quote for your dates and group size. A booking is confirmed once we've agreed on dates, price, and any deposit arrangement directly with you.
Pricing
Prices shown on this site are per person in USD and are current estimates; your final quote may vary slightly based on group size, season, and any customization. Entrance fees to individual fortress sites (typically $3–4 per site) are paid locally in cash and are not included in the tour price unless stated otherwise.
Date changes and cancellations
- Free date changes are available up to 48 hours before your tour departs.
- Changes requested inside 48 hours are handled case by case — message us as soon as you know, and we'll do what we can.
- Cancellation terms depend on how far in advance you cancel and whether any deposit has been paid; we'll confirm the specific terms with you at the time of booking.
What's included
Unless noted otherwise, fortress tours include air-conditioned transportation from your Khiva hotel, water, shade stops, and an English-speaking historian guide. Meals, personal expenses, and site entrance fees are not included unless specifically stated for that tour.
Your responsibilities
Some of our tours involve walking on uneven desert terrain, exposure to sun and heat, and multi-hour drives on unpaved tracks. Please let us know about any health conditions, mobility needs, or other concerns before booking so we can advise whether a tour is suitable, or adjust the itinerary.
Liability
We take reasonable care to run our tours safely, but travel in remote desert areas carries inherent risk. We are not liable for delays, losses, or circumstances outside our reasonable control — including weather, road conditions, border or permit issues, or actions of third parties (hotels, restaurants, or other partners we work with).
Reviews
Reviews submitted through this site are published automatically and reflect the opinions of the individual guest, not Khiva Fortress Tours. We reserve the right to remove a review that is spam, abusive, or clearly not about an actual booking with us.
